The earliest sample was detected on 9 November 2021.

It's not yet clear wheather infection with omicron causes more severe disease compared to infections with other variants.
1) Get Vaccinated
2) Wearing well fitting mask
3) Sanitise or wash your hands
4) Maintain social distancing
If symptons are present and the rapid antigen is negative, it should be confirmed with RT-PCR. A negative rapid antigen test does not mean it is not COVID. Rapid antigen tests can miss up to half of all COVID infections.
1) If symptons are present, test right way.
2) If you don't have symptoms, wait for five days after the contact occured and then test. Quarantime. until you test. If symptoms occur sooner, then test right away.
Most infections in the present surge are caused by the Omicron variant.
For most individuals with COVID, symptom-based treatment is all that is necessary. Paracetamol for fever, inhaled corticosteroids for cough and antihistamine and decongestants for nasal congestion are prescribed. Only severe disease require hospitalization.
